Karl and Marie is a typical Baltic Sea galley lane, as it was still frequently seen around the turn of the century. These small galleys, 15 to 20 metres long, were mainly used to transport goods along the coast. They had canvasses and a very typical wide hull for a lot of cargo space and good-natured sailing behaviour.

The kit of Karl and Marie was developed especially for the beginner in historical ship model making. Nevertheless, the finished model does not look like a beginner's ship. The reason for this is the particularly detailed building instructions. The model maker is not spared any particularly difficult work here, but is explained in particular detail, so that the construction is fun and also leads to success for everyone who believes in a little manual skill and patience.

The frames, keel and many other parts of this kit are cut out with a laser. The planking strips for the lower and upper planking of the fuselage are of selected quality and can be bent easily. The set of fittings contains the many finished parts such as blocks, masthead, rudder wheel are much more. The building plan together with the building instructions is particularly rich in overall views,. Single and perspective sketches. Not a part that can't be found more than once on the map. A detailed construction plan is the most important tool for successful construction, especially for beginners.

For equipping the model with sails, sail fabric is also available under article no. |834000|. Alternatively, there's a set of finished sails under the 61910.

Built in England in 1834 and put into the service of the Sardinian navy in 1835, the Gulnara is a typical example of the transition from sailing ship to steamship. The steam engine of this ship could only be regarded as an auxiliary drive. The ship was still fully sailable.
As an observation, escort and passenger ship, the Gulnara served Sardinia until 1861, when it was taken over by the Italian Navy. The Gulnara was equipped with an oscillating steam engine from Fawcett & Preston, Liverpool. Some of the wheel blades could be swivelled over when sailing in order to reduce the driving resistance.

The model kit of the Gulnara is constructed in such a way that building difficulties could be largely avoided. The result is a kit that can be successfully built by beginners without any problems and also offers the experienced model builder many fine details.

The frames and keel are already sawn out. The double fuselage planking is made of selected slat material. The bucket wheels, rear gallery and many fittings are already in the kit. Carefully designed construction plans and detailed assembly instructions ensure a pleasant and uncomplicated assembly.

With the slender elegant hull, the interesting superstructures with boiler and high chimney, the harmonious sails, the model of the Gulnara is the perfect choice.

a delicacy from the pioneering days of steamships. However, the model cannot be equipped with a working steam engine, as the necessary space is missing. The kit is designed as a pure floor model.

Optionally a set of ready sewn sails is available under the article no. |61913|.

The pirate was drawn in 1938 by the boat designer Carl Martens. With this construction, originally called "10m² Einheits-Jugendjolle", he won a competition of the magazine "Yacht". For many years the Pirate was the most built solid wood sailing boat in Germany.

The model was copied exactly in our dinghy scale 1:10 on the basis of original drawings and photos. Many details could be realized by the modern laser production in this model. Only a few simplifications were made to the model, so that the flair of this wonderful wooden boat remains fully preserved.

The kit contains all wooden parts exactly cut out by laser. Wooden parts can be stained to the desired wood colour before assembly. A special chandelier construction made of plywood makes the filigree hull easy to assemble. Fittings are etched brass. Mast and main boom are assembled from several laser parts and then sanded down. The sails have also been cut out with laser beams.

Construction plan and building instructions with many detailed sketches are also included in the kit.

The Vaurien-Jolle is an internationally spread regatta dinghy. Jean Jacques Herbulot designed the light and inexpensive plywood boat for the Les Glénans sailing school in 1951. Since 1961 the Vaurient has been recognised by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) as an international single class.

In the meantime, more than 36,000 boats have been built. The Vaurien sails stable due to the buckling construction and is easy to control even for beginners. The Vaurien is well suited for sailing training - sailing it optimally fast requires skill at the helm and good teamwork.

The model was built in our dinghy scale 1:10 using original drawings kindly provided by the class association vaurien.de and photos. Many details could be realized by the modern laser production in this model. The kit contains all wooden parts exactly cut out by laser. Wooden parts can be stained to the desired wood colour before assembly. Fittings are etched brass. Mast and main boom are assembled from several laser parts and then sanded down.
