Leonardo Bicycle Laser Kit
Model of Leonardo's famous bicycle sketch
Now you have the opportunity to recreate Leonardo da Vinci's ingenious studies in your own model. These simple kits are built in a short time and do not require any previous knowledge. Because the plywood parts are cut with a laser beam, the construction is also no problem for children and young people. Lacquered with clear lacquer from our Lord Nelson series, the result is a chic and long-lasting visual object that reflects the genius of this inventor, scientist and artist.
Leonardo da Vinci (1452 to 1519) was an architect, musician, painter, sculptor, mechanic, engineer, natural scientist and philosopher. This universal genius is famous for the Mona Lisa, his anatomical drawings and his study of proportions "The Vitruvian Man". In addition to art, he also observed the flight of birds and designed many flying objects that were modeled after the wings of birds.
This easy to build model shows the "bicycle" according to his sketches. Whether this drawing really comes from da Vinci is highly controversial. The model is already cut out of plywood with a laser beam and is built very quickly with some white glue or superglue.

Draisine Wheel Kit
The most important development of Carl Freiherr von Drais is the running machine from 1817, which at that time was also called Draisienne or Draisine. After Drais had already invented a four-wheeled carriage without horses in 1812,
he developed the single-track running machine. The idea that a single-track vehicle is enough to move around if the driver can actively balance with the steering was the key to the modern bicycle. From today's point of view, the reduction of the driving resistance was due to the single-track design of the vehicle and the energy consumption during driving is the essential innovation of this invention. On January 30, 1818, Drais first received a ten-year patent for his running machine in Baden. It was almost impossible to obtain comprehensive patent protection due to the small statehood in Central Europe. Pirated copies of his Inventions were soon to be found everywhere.
