Grunau Baby 1:4 Construction Kit

The Grunau Baby was created in 1932 as an improvement of the ESG 31 Stanavo developed by Edmund Schneider and Wolf Hirth. Soon it became the most popular exercise glider and many pilots were flying their silver C.
The aircraft has been developed over the years to the class III, but the type II b was the most widespread. This series was therefore also used as a model for our Scale models. The model was executed exactly on a scale of 1: 6 and 1: 4. On changes to the outer shape was consistently omitted, so that also rib spacing, end strips and planking match the model. The wing is strewn as in the original.
Due to the angular hull shape, the construction of the model is not as difficult as for example with a Minimoa, but experience in dealing with balsa wood is absolutely necessary.
The kit contains all wooden parts carefully punched as well as all metal and hinge parts.

SG38 School Glider Kit

Do you think you could fly with one of these? No? Then you belong to the young generation. Ask a "seasoned" gentleman of approx. 60 years. He may tell you with shining eyes about the beautiful, original flying on the slope, where every take-off was a joint performance with the loudly called command to the team on the rubber launch rope:

Take it off - - Run - - Go!

And after the half-minute horn the plane had to be towed up the slope again by everyone! The SG-38 was designed for slope and winch launching. The designers Schneider, Rehberg and Hofmann had developed an aircraft that was suitable for do-it-yourself construction in the pilot groups. Well-known school gliders such as "Hol's der Teufel", "Zögling" or "Schädelspalter" were the inspiration.

The model was consistently designed according to original documents on a scale of 1:4. Of course, the wooden construction method was retained. The lower part of the fuselage was widened by a few millimetres to accommodate the remote control. All other dimensions correspond to the original.

The model kit contains all the materials required for construction such as a large construction plan, detailed assembly instructions with perspective drawings, punched balsa and plywood parts, all fittings, rollers and pulleys, but not pilot dummy, covering material, paint and adhesives.

Technical data:
Scale 1:4
Wingspan 2602 mm
Length 1705 mm
Wing area 105 dm²
Tailplane area 19 dm²
Weight from 3.6 kg

Beginner model Habicht Lasercut Woodkit

Two models in a box. The two-axle glider for sailing and electric flying

Our completely new HABICHT, constructed in CAD and manufactured in CNC laser technology, is the ideal entry-level model for model aircraft. Even the experienced model builder will enjoy it. The construction of the model is deliberately kept very simple and is thus also easy to manage by the inexperienced model builder. All components are laser-cut with high precision. The building instruction with numerous pictures leads well through the construction.
The model is controlled by elevator and rudder, in the electric version also with motor control. The wing profile was developed from the profiles of modern high-performance models and gives HABICHT a high glide performance with low sink rate. Also the model penetrates well against stronger wind. The V-shape of the wing has been reduced to give the model excellent manoeuvrability, yet high inherent stability.

The hull is made of a few plywood and balsa wood parts. It is very robust and forgives many a hard landing. The canopy is removed via a magnetic lock so that there is convenient access to the flight battery (electric version) and the fittings. The wing is secured with rubber bands. It is a light ribbed construction, which is planked on the surface in the nose area. The tail units are constructed from lasered individual parts.

For the completion of the model only the ironing foil is necessary beside glue and a little tool (knives, pins, sandpaper, flat nose pliers and scissors) for covering.

The RC equipment of the glider requires a receiver battery with approx. 1,000 mAh and switch, the receiver with 2-4 channels and two servos with 15,5 mm width. Light motors with 26 or 28 mm diameter, a suitable BEC controller and a 3s-LiPo with approx. 1,300 mAh are intended to power the electric version - a very economical drive combination.
Thanks to the divided wing, the model is also easy to transport in a backpack, on a bicycle and in small cars. The glider can also be launched on the slope with the rubber rope in the plain. The electric version is also in no way inferior to the glider in terms of gliding characteristics.
