Gajeta is a wooden boat which was previously used for fishing, nowadays is almost used to transport cargo.
On the croatian coast is widely used in the areas of Zadar, Sibenik and Split and navigates all along the east coast of the Adriatic Sea, from Kotor to Venice.
Her lenght is up to 12 meters and the width up to 4 meters.
Already in the XVI century looms her distinctive shape, while the name of Gajeta appears only in the XVII century.
Distinguishing characteristics of the boats date from the ancient times of the pirate' s ships of Neretva and Omiš, from the times of Croatian sagenas, from the ships of King Tomislav, which probably had similar shapes, with rounded bow and stern.
This is a small and fast boat, with great maneuvering abilities.
The gajeta' s means of propulsion are mainly the oars, but not rarely the gajetas have also a mast, on which outstretched a lateen sail. Very rare were gajetas, especially those of new construction, equipped with an additional staysail or gaff sail.
Gaetas sail still nowadays, equipped with a motor.

Dalmatian boats

The world of model boat kits has never seen a program like this until now. It is a set of the most famous Dalmatian boats used throughout the past. These boats, in an almost unchanged form, are still used today, but have been equipped with engines and upgraded cabins.

Among them, we chose two models:
Pasara 44,3cm, 17.44'', 1:14
and Gaeta 48,0CM, 18.90'', 1:14 .
They are a combination of frame construction and plank on bulkhead building.

The third is very important Falkusa 70,4cm, 27.72'', 1:20 is made on a mold for finishing hull fitted with frames and other elements.

All three models provide an extraordinary experience for all modelers who know how to cover a hull with a single layer of planks. When finished, they look exactly the same as the originals.

Trajta - fishing and cargo boat from Korčula 63,8cm, 25.12'', 1:20 is a model that perfectly connects the ship models from the beginner course level 2 and 3 and ship models whose construction is more demanding. It is ideal for embarking on, more advanced model building, while Batelina – a boat of the Croatian coast 34cm, 13.39'', 1:10 belongs to the program for beginners, Beginner set: Level 1 .

Step above

As a link between easy to build models and more advanced projects, we offer a series of easy to build kits from MarisStella Model Ship Kits and The Old Seller lines. If you have already mastered the basics of model ship building, these kits will guide you into and through more demanding projects, that are not too complex for a careful model builder.

The "Step above" program is the next step for ship modelers who have mastered our beginner's courses at the first, second and third levels, and are prepared to start work on a larger project. The instructions in these projects are like all MarisStella kits, highly detailed, but they still allow independent thinking and planning. All you need is the ability to read blueprints.

The assembly kits that we have included in this program, which connect other programs from our assortment, are:

from the program "Masters of the Adriatic", Štilac 61 cm, 24.02'', 1:32
from the program "Dalmatian boats", Trajta – Leudo of the island of Korcula 63,8 cm, 25.12'', 1:20

Saint Jerome 16th c. 68cm, 26.77'', 1:75 project. It is an exception to the entire MarisStella program and is a model of the famous Hvar galley. This model is a priceless pearl for any modellers collection. It was created decades ago by the old famous master Mr. Verle, a great ship modeler.

Advanced Work

In English we define the qualifications of the ship modeler to enable them to decide on the level of models they want to build in this program. They are: Intermediate level . This means a model maker should have built at least three or more models to a reasonably high standard. This level will enable the modelbuilder to choose models from the MarisStella list without any problems. These are all unique works that were presented to the world for the first time through this line of kits.
